Joystiq has reported that at least early versions of the new PSP Slim will run on Firmware version 3.60.

A UMD caching feature takes advantage of additional RAM, whilst the USB charing feature revealed when we first featured the PSP Slim is a menu option.

The original PSP is running on firmware 3.51 and it is not clear whether firmware 3.6 will be available for those users too.
