In the wake of the launch of the iPhone, Apple head Steve Jobs "trash-talked" the Sony PSP and other portable devices in an article at Time. "In the hours we spent talking about the iPhone, Jobs trash-talked the Treo, the BlackJack, the Sony PSP and the Sony Mylo ("just garbage compared to this"), Windows Vista ("It's just a copy of an old version of Mac OSX") and of course Microsoft's would-be iPod killer, Zune.
The statement regarding the Palm Treo, the Samsung Blackjack and the
Sony Mylo can be understood given the functionality of those devices
and their similarities compared with the iPhone, however a reference to
the PSP here may be a hint towards Apple heading for a debut in gaming,
although it may just be a comparison of the video capabilities both
devices share. |
